UK spends more than twice as much on managing Covid compensation claims as on payouts

The UK government is spending more than twice the amount on managing Covid compensation payouts as it has on paying the victims.

It has paid £83 million to the NHSBSA (NHS Business Services Advisory) which oversees the compensation payment scheme to victims who have suffered life-destroying reactions to one of the Covid jabs.

By comparison, the NHSBSA has paid out just £32 million to 264 victims or their families since October 2021.  Each has received the £120,000 statutory payout.

The £83 million paid to the agency includes £20 million for an ‘independent’ panel of doctors who assess claims, and £50 million to a team of loss adjusters.

The NHSBSA has been processing 24,000 claims, of which just 2,000 have passed the first assessment phase—and, so far, just 264 have received compensation.

But these are fractions of the number of Britons who have reported suffering a reaction to one of the Covid jabs.  Around 500,000 Britons and their doctors have reported a reaction to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) yellow card reporting scheme.

The system on average records just 12 percent of adverse reactions, which, if so, would suggest that more than 4 million Britons have suffered a side effect or adverse reaction to one of the Covid shots, and most likely to the AstraZeneca jab, which was banned in other European countries.
