There’s no one-size-fits-all for our vitamin D dose

Reading time: 1 minute

Researchers at Trinity College Dublin say one size doesn’t fit all: the dose depends on our body-mass index (BMI) and age.  For instance, as we get older, our body doesn’t process UVB sunlight as efficiently, and so we need higher doses, either from sunlight or supplements.

The optimum dose needs to be tailored to our personal profile, they say.
