Watermelon juice reverses hardening of the arteries

Reading time: 1 minute

Watermelon juice reverses atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. It has a positive effect after just eight weeks, say researchers.
University of Kentucky researchers tested the juice on a group of mice, and another group was given water. After the eight-week trial period, the mice given the watermelon juice had less fat mass, which lowered their body weight, their cholesterol levels were lower, and there were statistically significant reductions in lesions, or damage, to the arteries.
