The German measles scare that wasn’t

Reading time: 1 minute

The doctors who diagnosed the cases of rubella had made official notifications – so they were added to health agency totals – and yet oral fluid tests later discovered that each one of the cases had been a misdiagnosis.

Medical researcher Peter Johnson made the discovery when he investigated UK government health records.

He also discovered that the World Health Organization (WHO) has been inflating the number of measles deaths around the world. The WHO’s claims that 110,00 children around the world had died from the disease in 2017 were wild exaggerations, he says, and were more to do with guesswork and in-built biases than actual hard evidence.
