How to double the positive effects of broccoli

Reading time: 1 minute

Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables – even eating just three servings a week can lessen your chances of cancer. But you can double its cancer-fighting properties when you add a second vegetable to the mix.
Broccoli’s magic ingredient is the enzyme myrosinase, say researchers from the University of Illinois – and its health-giving qualities are doubled when it’s cooked with sprouts.
Adding sprouts also ensures that we get sufficient levels of the enzyme, which often are destroyed when we over-cook the vegetable.
