Eating together as a family reduces everyone’s stress levels.
The American Heart Association is encouraging more families to sit down and share a meal together. Not only does it reduce stress levels, eating together also boosts self-esteem and improves social connections, something that’s especially important for children, says Erin Michos from John Hopkins.
Americans agree. A survey that polled the responses of a thousand participants discovered that 84 percent said they wished they could share more mealtimes together, and most of the parents reported lower stress levels among their family when they regularly connected over a meal.
