Exercise and take vitamins to lower risk of breast cancer coming back

They’re the strategies with the best evidence, the researchers say after wading through 67 research studies on the subject. They also add not smoking and limiting your alcohol intake to the list.

The researchers from the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto say there isn’t much evidence for any particular diet to follow, although it may be an idea to avoid soy. Any weight gain of 10 per cent or more seems to increase the chances of the breast cancer recurring, say the researchers, but moderate exercise of 30 minutes a day, five days a week, and taking vitamin C and D supplements both appear to reduce the risk.
