Drugs more lethal than the two world wars combined

Reading time: 1 minute

Since the turn of the century, more than 16 million Americans have died as a direct result of chemotherapy, while 240,674 have died in the UK from the drugs.

Iatrogenic deaths – those caused by some medical intervention – have totalled more than 12.5 million in the US alone. Hospital errors have accounted for a further 7 million deaths in America, and a further 3 million have died from bedsores or infections while in hospital.

Although chemotherapy drugs are the most lethal, the SSRI antidepressants have accounted for 641,797 deaths in the States, NSAID painkillers have caused 264,741 deaths, and opioid pain-relievers 260,489 fatalities.

The opioids have caused 1.78 million deaths worldwide in 15 years, while deaths from psychiatric drugs – including suicides – have totalled 8.02 million in the West.

These frightening figures have been collated by America’s health watchdog Mike Adams for his new website, Pharma Death Clock.
