AstraZeneca admits its Covid jab causes life-threatening blood clots

Reading time: 1 minute

AstraZeneca has finally admitted its Covid vaccine can cause life-threatening blood clots.

It made the admission in papers presented to a coroner’s court that was investigating the death of a 28-year-old man, Alex Reid, who died from a blood clot on the brain after receiving a second Covid jab.

The coroner recorded the death as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia, a new condition that is specifically linked to the vaccine.

Alex was fast-tracked to have the vaccine because his medical records had wrongly classified him as being morbidly obese, and so in an at-risk group.  A month later, the UK government announced that people under the age of 30 should not be given the vaccine, but instead should have the Pfizer mRNA jab instead.  Despite the alert, Mr Reid was given a second course of the AstraZeneca vaccine, from which he died around a month later.

The verdict could open the floodgates to other claims of death and permanent injury from the vaccine, including 81 deaths and hundreds of cases of serous disability, with settlements totalling hundreds of millions of pounds in damages being paid to families.  However, because of the no-fault agreement on vaccines between government and drug companies, AstraZeneca will not be paying the damages.

The vaccine was shelved by the UK government just a year after it was licensed in 2021, and hardly any country in Europe ever took it up as concerns about its safety had been highlighted within a month or so of its release.
