Naturally healthy hair products

Reading time: 4 minutes

As we hit the summer months, we want our skin and hair to be in top condition, but of course we want to keep it natural and sustainable, too. Check out some of these organic products, sourced by Janey Lee Grace, that hit the spot, offer great hydration and don’t harm the planet.

 Get coconutty

Tiana Fair Trade Organics

Organic Fresh Coconut TLC® with Vitamin C Intensive Hydration Balm,  £11.99 (3.4 fl oz/100 mL)

www.tiana-organics.com

Of course we think of the aroma of coconuts when we think of summer, but beware synthetic aftersun creams that have never come near a fresh coconut. Tiana Fair Trade Organics, which produces a wide range of coconut oil products, has a new range of clean, ethical skincare that is plant-based and rich in bioactive organic and natural nutrients.

The versatile Intensive Hydration Balm is an essential emollient for dry or irritated skin. Coconut glycerin is used as an emollient to retain skin moisture and help to smooth skin. It’s quickly absorbed and great for sensitive or problematic skin due to its high level of lauric acid. The balm also contains concentrated vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant to boost radiance, protect against free radical damage and improve collagen production.

The balm can be used on the whole body. You can apply to sunburnt skin to reduce inflammation and moisturize. It’s great for the whole family and gentle enough for babies.

Looking after your locks

Tabitha James Kraan

Scented Organic Hair Oil, $52/£43.00 (1 fl oz/30 mL)

US: shop.beauty-heroes.com
UK: www.tabithajameskraan.com

Let’s start with looking after your locks. Hot weather and chlorine swimming pools can play havoc with your hair, especially if it’s been colored, so try the super-protective products from leading organic hairdresser Tabitha James Kraan, who focuses on ‘clean’ and sustainable haircare.

Restore life and luster to sun-dried hair with this highly nutritious organic oil, which has been aromatherapy-scented with Kraan’s signature amber rose scent. It is suitable for all hair types and can revive dehydrated and dry hair and also enhance shine, leaving hair feeling silky and stronger.  And you can rest assured that it’s 100 percent natural and Soil Association accredited.

Feed your face

Gerlinde Naturals

Super Fruit Moisturiser, $30.57/£24.00 (1.69 fl oz/50 mL)

www.gerlindenaturals.co.uk

We love eating superfoods, but we can feed our skin with them, too. The vegan eco products from Gerlinde Naturals contain pure earth-derived botanical ingredients, developed for sensitive skin and enhanced with some amazing anti-aging ingredients. Try the creamy Super Fruit Moisturiser with high-performance, nourishing and hydrating ingredients such as pro-vitamin B5, cranberry, raspberry, pomegranate and green tea extracts, which offer an exceptional synergy of omega-3 and -6 essential fatty acids and antioxidants that help promote collagen production and add anti-inflammatory properties.

Once you have had some TLC for your face and body, treat yourself to a glass of something chilled, yet free from alcohol.
