Covid vaccine triggers lethal stroke

AstraZeneca’s Covid vaccine is triggering a lethal form of stroke, researchers have discovered.

A cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), a rare form of stroke, usually has a mortality rate of around 5 percent—but this rises to 47 percent in the people who suffer a stroke after having had the Covid vaccine. The adenoviral vaccine is also increasing CVST’s rates of haemorrhage and coma, say researchers from Amsterdam University Medical Centre.

They collected data on 116 patients who all suffered a CVST after vaccination, and the vaccine was definitely responsible in 78 of the cases; of these, 24 percent were already in a coma when they came to the hospital, 68 percent suffered a haemorrhage, and 47 percent died in hospital.

All but two of the cases had been given the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the researchers discounted the case that had happened after having been given the Pfizer jab. 

The real mortality rate among the vaccinated could even be as high as 61 percent as earlier cases may not have been recorded because doctors were initially unaware of a connection to the vaccine.

“Although these side effects are rare, the consequences are very severe,” said Jonathan Coutinho, one of the researchers.

The data was collected from 19 countries, and 81 hospitals, between March and June this year.
