WDDTY cited as campaign to stop EU herbal ban gathers speed

WDDTY has been cited in the European Parliament as the campaign builds to stop the introduction of a directive that will bar thousands of herbal medicines across Europe from May 1.
UK Independent MEP Stuart Agnew quotes an article from WDDTY’s April issue in a series of written questions that ask how the removal of herbal medicines from shops “protects human health or improves consumer choice and is the Commission proud of its achievement?”
In just two weeks time, the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive comes into force. It will remove all Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and ayurvedic herbal remedies – and most traditional herbs – from stores.
The Alliance for Natural Health International (ANH-Int) has raised lb90,000 of the lb100,000 needed to mount a legal challenge in the High Court against the directive.
