Secrets and Side-effects
This two-volume set explores the way the drug companies operate, how they get the drugs to market and how they influence doctors into prescribing them to you. It also pinpoints the most dangerous drugs around and their worrying side effects.
In the second volume, Secrets and Side Effects, we look at the way the drugs industry manipulates science in order to achieve the right result to get its drug prescribed. But a drug is worthless without a disease, and we uncover the occasions when the industry has even invented diseases in order to create a new market. Sometimes they produce ‘scare’ stories in the world’s media to get governments buying their drugs in the event of a pandemic that never materialises.
In the second part, we look at the dangerous side effects of some of the world’s most common drugs, including the COX-2 inhibitors, the bisphosphonates, the anti-epileptics, and the statins.
