Ageing Well Part One
We can enjoy great health well into old age—but it’s all about making the right, and healthy, choices. In this first part of a two-set volume, we explore many of the chronic health problems that seem to be associated with getting older, and look at ways they can be avoided. Topics include macular degeneration (sight loss), thyroid problems, hearing loss, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, male pattern baldness, chronic back pain and stroke.
Conditions that affect women are also highlighted, and include ways to prepare for an easy menopause, herbal supplements that should be in the locker of every woman over the age of 50, hair loss and varicose veins.
And did you know that many prescription drugs cause so many symptoms associated with getting older, such as instability, memory loss and incontinence? We look at some of the drugs you need to think twice about before taking.
