Green tea helps us think better and can improve our working memory. The drink could even be used to help treat psychiatric disorders such as dementia, say researchers.
The tea appears to improve the brain's connectivity, allowing it to function better and enhance cognitive abilities including working memory, say researchers from the University Hospital Basel.
They gave a group of healthy volunteers a soft drink that contained several grams of green tea extract before setting them tasks that tested their working memory. They also monitored reactions in the brain with an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan.
