The walnut is the healthiest of the nuts

The walnut is the "king of the nuts" - it is the healthiest to eat as it contains the highest amounts of antioxidants that help ward off problems such as heart disease and type II diabetes

The walnut is the "king of the nuts" - it is the healthiest to eat as it contains the highest amounts of antioxidants that help ward off problems such as heart disease and type II diabetes.
It came out on top after it was tested against other nuts, including peanuts, almonds, pecans and pistachios. "A handful of walnuts contains almost twice as much antioxidants as an equivalent amount of any other commonly consumed nut," said researcher Joe Vinson. He also discovered that the antioxidants in walnuts were two to 15 times as potent as vitamin E.
He recommends that people eat seven walnuts every day to get all the protection they offer.
