The three 'killer indicators' that increase your chances of heart disease

There are 'three killer indicators' that will tell you your chances of developing heart disease and diabetes, researchers have discovered

There are 'three killer indicators' that will tell you your chances of developing heart disease and diabetes, researchers have discovered.

If you have high blood pressure, high blood sugar and you're obese all at the same time, your chances of developing heart disease double, and you're three times more likely to die prematurely, compared with healthy people.

These 'killer indicators', as described by researchers at Warwick Medical School, are the three most dangerous combinations of health factors. Together, they are likely to lead to a condition called metabolic syndrome which, in turn, is the precursor of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

Having just one of the killer indicators does not necessarily mean you will develop a serious health problem, say the researchers.
