Pregnancy: Having an abortion doesn't affect the outcome second time around

Women who have an abortion don't increase the risk of a problem pregnancy later on

Women who have an abortion don't increase the risk of a problem pregnancy later on.

Researchers have looked at the outcomes of 11,814 pregnant women who had had a previous abortion in the first trimester.

They found that the women were not more likely to suffer a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, pre-term birth or low birth weight than women who had never had an abortion.
