A reader's daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and is having problems conceiving. She did conceive eventually, but then miscarried and has not been successful since. Do readers know of any natural remedies that may be able to help?
Rebalance the hormones
According to Brina, your daughter-in law should see a naturopath, herbalist or nutritionist, as she needs a course of treatment to try and rebalance the hormones. "She needs to eliminate all xenoestrogens, take supplements such as EFAs and magnesium, and use herbs that work together to improve hormone balance," says Brina. "A qualified natural practitioner will be able to advise."
Another reader suggests using the Web for help and advice on PCOS and related problems. She highly recommends the website of the Poycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association, www.pcossupport.org, which provides a wealth of information and some excellent links.
Other suggestions are reflexolgy - to balance the hormones - and Virtual Scanning - to help with fertility problems.
