WDDTY replies: Our apologies for the over-sight. In the US, cholesterol is measured in milligrams per decilitre (mg/dL) of blood. In the UK and other countries, it's measured in millimoles per litre (mmol/L), according to what is known as the International System.

To convert mg/dL to mmol/L, divide by 38.67. To convert mmol/L to mg/dL, multiply by 38.67.
