EM emissions persist unless you pull the plug Re your article on EM emissions (WDDTY vol 16 no 1), it was much more convincing than anything I had read in the press! As a result, I have started sleeping on the far side of my double bed to get farther away from my alarm clock/radio.
You do not say whether these articles emit all the time, or only when they are working. So, is it a constant hazard, or only when the radio is playing? (I am sorry to say I think I already know the answer!) - Pauline Russack, Northampton
WDDTY replies: If you're thinking that it's a constant hazard, then you're right. As long as your alarm clock is being fed into the mains, there will always be some degree of electromagnetic radiation. Try switching to a battery-powered alarm clock/radio instead.
