Mistletoe for cancer

In October 1997, I was diagnosed with a malignant lump in my left breast, with additional growths in the lymph nodes of my armpit. I already had several long standing health problems: for 33 years I've been paralysed and use a wheelchair, and more recently I developed a bladder problem. The outlook, therefore, was not the most encouraging,

particularly as the treatment recommended mastectomy, clearance of the lymph nodes, radiotherapy ran a high risk of disabling my left arm.

My first choice of alternative therapies was mistletoe. After careful analysis of my situation, we began subcutaneous injections of Viscum album (extracts of the berries) similar to the more widely known Iscador at Park Attwood Clinic, Worcestershire.

I also began a radical, wholly organic and vegan diet. I included relaxation sessions, dry skin brushing and acupuncture to support my immune system. Although my general health and well being improved daily, my tumour continued to grow.

We then proceeded with a course of injections directly into the tumour. Administered weekly, they were painful for 10 to 20 minutes and caused local inflammation and exhaustion. But within six weeks the tumour began to recede. Now there is no discernible tumour left, and the swollen lymph nodes in my armpit have returned to a normal size and softness.

It is difficult to be wholly sure that I am free of the disease. All I can say is that the tumours have disappeared without trace and I feel better than I have in years.

Although we had expected orthodox doctors to be sceptical about our chosen approach, we were unprepared for the onslaught of prejudice. My specialist vilified Abnoba viscum, slandered the doctors who use it as "quacks" and "charlatans", and frightened me with lurid details of what to expect if I refused orthodox treatment. However, with the now indisputable remission, even he acknowledged that the therapy has achieved an impressive result. P E, Ludlow, Shropshire........
