How many vitamins for healthy living?

About the author:

Much as I enjoyed your 100th issue (WDDTY, vol 9, no 4), I wonder if you could clarify some points you made under your "best supplements" section?

Much as I enjoyed your 100th issue (WDDTY, vol 9, no 4), I wonder if you could clarify some points you made under your "best supplements" section?

You suggest supplementing with vitamin A, C and E, zinc, selenium and cysteine. Are all six recommended for everyone, regardless of age, or diet? In no. 13 you recommend magnesium, chromium and Borax (for over 50's). Is this in addition to the above?

In no. 19, you do not say how much vitamin C. Earlier you say one to three grams, but elsewhere you recommend 500 mg. You also recommend vitamin D to regulate calcium absorption is this to be taken with calcium supplements, and if so, what is the recommended dosage of both? EJ Mishan, London..........
