You may be interested to know that we have obtained research from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, concerning a proven link between the treatment given to children (lumboperitoneal shunts) with hydrocephalus (this is often connected to spina bifida) and the development of arachnoiditis. Some 375 children were studied. As a result of treatment, 40 had foot deformities, 63 had neurological deficiencies, 34 developed back pain, 45 had hamstring tightness and 49 had scoliosis. The researchers concluded that "These deformities are postulated to be the result of arachnoiditis."
