Thank you for your publication but I felt I must write to chide you about an article in the January 1996 issue (WDDTY vol 6 no 10)

Dear WDDTY:

Thank you for your publication but I felt I must write to chide you about an article in the January 1996 issue (WDDTY vol 6 no 10). You entitled it "Mad Cow's Disease Linked to CJD," which gave the impression that a definite link had been proved.

For many years now, those of us involved in the meat trade farmers, butchers, etc have had to face an onslaught of cranky, anti meat propaganda, but more recently, they have tended to tell us that perhaps it isn't so bad, after all.

Now, however, we are being put into the position of having to try to prove that BSE does not cause CJD. Meanwhile, all this bad publicity is have a very bad effect on the trade, and I do not think that sloppy journalism such as this helps, either. B I Twinn, County Durham.....
