Feingold diet for pityriasis

About the author:

Re your piece on pityriasis (vol 4 no 5, Q & A)

Dear WDDTY

Re your piece on pityriasis (vol 4 no 5, Q & A). The word rang a bell. I thought you may like to see this short paragraph from a flyer given out by the Hyperactive Children's Support Group. "James has suffered from a rare skin condition, Pityriasis Lincenoides Chronica, since February 1984. He was on one occasion a case study for leading skin specialists in the East Midlands who all agreed that there was no known cause for the condition and no cure it would eventually get better of its own accord (usually after a few months). After two years it had not improved at all but after only one month on the Feingold Diet his spots (similar to those of chicken pox) had all disappeared. They did reappear briefly after drinking some Sainsbury's (artificial and colour free) lemon squash containing the preservative E223, but soon disappeared again when we stopped using it."
