Broken veins

A woman wants to know how to get rid of a bluish tinge covering most of her nose

A woman wants to know how to get rid of a bluish tinge covering most of her nose. It's due to tiny broken veins, but the area isn't swollen. Vitamin K gel doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions? Try the prescription spider vein cream from Apothecure, says one reader - for best results it must be used several times a day for an extended period, but you will notice an improvement early on. Another reader has the same problem and puts it down to sun damage. She mentions laser treatment as a possible solution but has been covering up with mineral-based makeup herself. Another woman recommends green-tinted makeup to hide the colouring (apply before foundation and blend as necessary). A friend of hers uses Forever Living Propolis Cream to treat rosacea, which sometimes presents as small visible blood vessels on the face. (Watch this space for more information on rosacea; there's a reader query on the topic this week.)
