You claim to inform people of health risks and yet deny the one from vitamin B6. I am horrified to read that you are supporting those misguided individuals who claim that vitamin B6 is "perfectly safe" (WDDTY vol 8, no 6).
I may belong to a "small minority of women", but the side effects I suffered from B6 were dreadful and long lasting.
In March 1991, my family planning clinic nurse recommended vitamin B6 to counteract pre menstrual tension. The results, severe and chronic nausea, showed within three weeks and I stopped taking the tablets. The chronic nausea abated after about two months but I was unable to tolerate anything containing either yeast or cow's milk for six months.
My family planning clinic doctor informed me that both vitamin B6 and evening primrose oil were known to cause these side effects. Unfortunately my GP did not know this, nor did my health food shop. I have since learned that star oil also contains high levels of vitamin B6, and that the vitamin, when packaged, can cause aggression. J S, Carlisle.......
