Vinyl flooring is no healthy option
Concerning the article on the Healthy House (WDDTY, Vol. 10, No. 1), we wouldn't recommend using vinyl flooring because of the negative environmental impact of PVC.
Also, most of the wooden floors installed by people in place of carpet are composites which contain fairly significant levels of formaldehyde and VOCs from the varnishes used.
We would also be very much against the use of nylon carpeting, again because of its broader environmental impact.
