It would have been helpful to have added the English equivalent in brackets. Maybe you could bear this in mind in future and provide the information to make the letter meaningful to me. - Edda Best, via e-mail

In praise of vitamin c

I was glad to see you write about some of the benefits of high-dose vitamin C (WDDTY vol 16 no 11). It’s very sad that drug-company propaganda has made people more afraid of natural remedies than drugs, which can kill and incapacitate millions. As a nutritionist also working in a health store, I find it difficult to recommend vitamin C to people because of the scurrilous reporting of research a few years ago in which vitamin C was sensation-ally presented as dangerous in doses over 500 mg. The EU upper limit is 1-2 g.

Me is not all in the head

As a subscriber to WDDTY and someone who has been badly affected by the illness ME [myalgic encephalomyelitis] for almost 15 years, I was astonished and disappointed to read ‘Epidemic by hysteria’ on page 8 of WDDTY vol 16 no 9.

Therapy for psychosomatics

I am a research psychologist and psychotherapist.
