Osteoporosis

A 58-year-old active woman has learned that the bone density in her back has slipped to just 87% of normal levels. She takes a wide range of vitamins plus calcium and magnesium and has just started on silica. She would like to avoid taking Fosamax if at all possible. Can anyone offer her advice? One healthcare practitioner explains that osteoporosis is due to the declining ability of the endocrine system (especially the thyroid), which is no longer able to maintain bone structure. The glands within the endocrine system take part in many of the 13 physiological or functional processes that maintain our health. Virtual Scanning is the most precise technology to resynchronise the various functional systems and hence ward off the unwelcome advances of osteoporosis. Other recommendations include exercise, sunlight, avoiding stress, and a well-balanced diet (organic, loads of fruits and vegetables, and a minimum of processed foods). Try copper supplements as well. Also, there’s a debate going on among readers – some believe that dairy products are counterproductive in people with osteoporosis and stick to soya products instead, while others recommend including low-fat dairy in the diet to boost calcium intake.
