Of course, every silver lining has a cloud, even if it’s of cigarette smoke. Researchers have also discovered that smokers are just as likely to die from a cardiovascular problem caused by the NSAID, so they are no better off.

The solution? Stop smoking and don’t take an NSAID, it seems (Lancet, 2005; 366: 1359-66).
