In the UK, the Cancer Rsesarch Campaign is supporting research into photodynamic therapy. A light source called the Paterson Lamp has been developed which reduces the cost of treatment by replacing the laser source used in US research. At present this lamp is being used to treat non melanoma skin cancer.
