Genital herpes:

You're all genital herpes experts! So many of you have come up with suggestions to help the poor woman suffering from chronic genital herpes who had tried lysine supplements without success.

Many of you suggested colloidal silver, which can be added to water as a drink, but it can also be tried as a douche. Another suggests dabbing on a neat solution three times a day. Other suggestions included megascorbate therapy, which includes applying sodium ascorbate to lesions, while another suggests a combination therapy of Acer campestre, Betula pubescans and Ulmes campesris, manufactured by Unda in Belgium. The North American distributor is Seroyal International.

One reader suggests camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia), while Rhus Tox 200 for the pain and manuka honey for the lesions is the way forward recommended by another. Oils to try include tea rree, Melissa and rosemary.

One reader points out that lysine can work, but only if the amino-acid arginine is reduced or eliminated from the diet. Arginine is found in chocolate and carob, in nuts, seeds, raisins, wholewheat, brown rice, oatmeal, corn, lentils, peas and gelatins. It's also important to take enough lysine, and should not be less than 500 to 1000 mg a day.

On the subject of diet, one reader says it's vital to eat a healthy diet of fresh fruit and vegetable, and little or no wheat and dairy. This can be done in connection with a propolis tincture diluted with warm water, or it can be applied to the infected area.
