Gas stoves linked to asthma

Women who cook with gas stoves are more likely to develop asthma and other respiratory problems, researchers have discovered.

They believe the cause may be nitrogen dioxide, which is produced by gas stoves and has been a proven cause of respiratory damage. Researchers believe that the problems and in particular wheezing with breathlessness could be reduced by one third if the women switched to another form of cooker, such as electric.
