Chronic bronchitis
A reader has recently been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis, an inflammation of the main airways in the lungs that continues for a long period or keeps coming back. In her case, she’s just had her second bout of bronchitis in two years. Do readers know of any natural solutions to strengthen the lungs and help deal with the condition, she asks?
Virtual ScanningAccording to Graham, a technique called Virtual Scanning has successfully treated a number of breathing disorders including asthma and emphysema. To find out more visit

EchinaceaAnother reader, who three years ago had 12 attacks of bronchitis in 14 months, swears by the herb Echinacea. “A friend recommended Echinacea to me and I now take it every day,” Ian explains. “I take a break during the school holidays, as you are supposed to stop taking it for one week in eight. I also take Ester-C (500 mg) with 100 mg of bioflavonoids. Since I commenced this regime I have had just two three-day 'sniffles' in the last two years!”
Colloidal silverColloidal silver is another natural remedy that may help. Marina takes five drops of this (on the tongue) twice a day whenever she suffers a nasty attack of bronchitis. It relieves her symptoms within a few days.
Aloe veraAlternatively, try drinking a top-quality aloe vera gel first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. According to Margaret, who loves the range offered by Forever Living, “Aloe vera is a great natural anti-inflammatory that will also boost the immune system.”
Finally...Eric offers this lung-strengthening remedy: “Boil together 200 grams of swede, 20 grams of onion, 20 grams of orange peel, 10 grams of fresh ginger root, 10 grams of garlic and 10 grams of fresh coriander in two pints of water. Drink three cups a day for ten days or so.”
