Chinese medicine to treat colitis and crohn's disease

Dear WDDTY

I treat colitis and Crohn's disease with traditional Chinese medicine usually combining acupuncture and diet. Colitis often appears due to excess liver activity.

Crohn's appears with a deficiency of liver activity, allowing stomach acid production to be excessive.

Both conditions respond extremely well to this treatment, especially when combined with appropriate dietary measures like identifying and removing sensitive foods and those foods which play havoc with the aforementioned organs eg coffee, chocolate, cheese, alcohol, hot spicy foods, for a period.

In response to Stephanie Hardwick's plight (WDDTY vol 4 no 9), I have come across numerous patients whose "masked allergy" diagnosis and multiple allergy vaccine (MAV) led to dreadful dependence, in some cases near death and eventually a diagnosis of "total allergy syndrome".

Due to initial improvement with MAV the patient has felt such treatment miraculous; I think it is highly dangerous and is one of the very few "alternatives" that has made some people very ill indeed.

Desensitization is not fully understood; it is not a form of homeopathy. John Heptonstall, Morley Acupuncture Clinic, Morley......
