Cataracts: Vitamin E and C reduce your risk

You can dramatically reduce your chances of developing cataracts by taking daily supplements of the antioxidant vitamins E and C.  Eating foods that are rich in the vitamins can also help lower the risk.

Researchers made the discovery when they assessed the risk among a group of 35,551 women over a 10-year period.  During that time 2,031 of the participants developed cataracts, but those who consumed high levels of vitamins C and E through their diet and supplements reduced their risk by at least a third.
