Brush your teeth twice a day to lower your chances of heart problems

Here’s one simple way you can reduce your risk of developing heart disease – brush your teeth twice a day. People who don’t take good care of their teeth and gums are 70 per cent more likely to develop heart disease as those who brush their teeth twice a day and pay regular visits to the dentist. Those who had poor oral health were also more likely to suffer inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, say researchers from University College London. Doctors are beginning to understand the importance of teeth and gum health and how it relates to overall health, and this latest study reinforces the point.
