While the drugs industry continues to fire blanks in the fight against Alzheimer’s, there seems to be a natural resource that does wonders for mental sharpness and cognition – sunshine.
Older people with high levels of vitamin D – derived either from sunshine or supplements – do far better in mental tests than those with lower levels.
The importance of vitamin D in performing mental skills has been proven in several trials already, and these earlier findings have been confirmed in a new study of 80 patients.
