A day's fast is good for your health and your heart
A day-long fast once in a while is one of the best things you can do for your overall health, and especially for your heart.
A fast, where you drink only water for 24 hours, lowers your chances of developing coronary artery disease, diabetes and reduces your cholesterol levels.
Researchers from the Intermountain Medical Centre ran several trials – one on 200 people, and another on 30 patients who drank only water for 24 hours – and were astonished by the health benefits achieved in such a short time.
This latest study confirms the findings that the research group made in their first study into fasting in 2007.
