Neuropathy

One reader was at her wit's end in trying to find a suitable remedy for her father-in-law's neuropathy. Doctors could do nothing for him, she told us, so could our readers help out? Assuming it's diabetic neuropathy, a reader recommends the work of the Weimar Institute in California, which has developed a programme called New Start. It's a lifestyle approach, which includes a low-fat diet, water to drink and for hydrotherapy, exercise and abstience from alcohol, caffeine and tobacco. There's also a mental/spiritual element to the programme. More on http://www.newstart.com. Self-help therapy includes a simple vegetarian diet, with easy exercise, such as walking, and abstinence from tea, coffee, and alcohol. And keep a positive attitude. Another reader suggests using Udo's Choice Oil, available from most healthfood stores. The Bowen technique might also be of help as it's had some success with other sufferers. Those who live in North America have tried neural therapy, which has produced amazing results for patients as long as the nerves are not severed or destroyed. Another reader suggests trying cranio-sacral therapy as it works on the nervous system.
