Polyps:

Then there was the reader who was looking for non-surgical treatments for her friend who has a large polyp growing on the side of her face. The friend had one removed surgically when she was 12. One reader doesn't feel there is a great deal to worry about. Polyps are small growths or sebaceous cysts that don't cause any problems unless they are in the nose. Only those that change colour or size should be investigated, as this may indicate a malignancy. Another reader suggests urine therapy, as advocated by the likes of J Armstrong and Harald Tietze. Soak a gauze pad in urine, and tape in place over the polyp overnight. If that doesn't appeal, try Blackmore's celloid mineral therapy.
