Chemotherapy can reactivate hepatitis virus

There’s now yet another reason to avoid chemotherapy.

People with a history of hepatitis run the risk of having the virus reactivated by cancer drug treatments that suppress the immune system. Some cancer patients have died of hepatitis after chemotherapy (Lancet Oncol, 2002; 3: 333-40).
