Victimisation of the female patient

I was angry and concerned to read of the way in which the lady in your case study of the September issues of WDDTY (vol 5 no 5) was treated by her doctor.

Unfortunately, this combination of boorishness, ignorance and incompetence is far too common among male doctors in their dealings with female patients. Just like the phenomenon of wife beating, the practice of victimizing and intimidating women in hospitals and clinics will continue unchecked for just as long as the women concerned allow it to. This lady MUST complain about this doctor. The person to complain to is the chief officer at her local office of the Community Health Council. The CHC exists to help patients.
