Re Doris Jones’ report (WDDTY, vol 12 no 5), the decision to suspend Dr Durrant-Peatfield without having read the hundreds of his patients’ letters of support is outrageous.

As a practicing reflexologist, I have had several cases where the thyroid reflex indicated thyroid dysfunction and deficiency, despite the usual GP tests giving a normal thyroid function result.
One patient had had ME diagnosed seven years previously, and suffered bouts of depression, dreadful tiredness and no hope of becoming pregnant. I recommended her to Dr Peatfield and, within days, her condition improved. She later conceived and has a baby boy. Until Dr Peatfield was suspended, she was leading a normal life. Now, she is still trying to persuade her GP to continue with Dr Peatfield’s successful prescriptions.

Another patient had been depressed for 17 years, with constant tiredness and ill-health. After seeing Dr Peatfield, she has renewed energy and a zest for life.

A third patient, prescribed corn-free thyroxine, is now living an allergy-free life.

I understand there is little hope of Dr Peatfield returning to work, a great injustice to a man who did so much for people who were unable to get the help they needed to return to good health.-Sheila Wilson, via e-mail
