Do sulphonamide drugs also precipitate the onset of SLE.

In your article regarding systemic lupus erythematosus (vol 6 no 2), Harald Gaier mentions a number of drugs implicated as causing this disease. I am surprised that sulphonamide was not mentioned. There is overwhelming evidence that sulphonamide drugs also precipitate the onset of SLE.

Sulphonamide is a component of the commonly prescribed antibiotic Septrin, or Bactrim in the US (co-trimoxazole). Shirley Jones, Coppice, Oldham.....
