Better hindsight without glasses

My experience is so similar to that reported in your case study on myopia (WDDTY, vol 9 no 5), I felt it worth noting. I was prescribed glasses at school and told to wear them all the time. However, halfway through reading Harry Benjamin's Better Sight Without Glasses, I stopped using them for reading altogether. Now, aged 83, I can read the smallest print with ease and my distance vision has also improved to the extent that I no longer need glasses.

I too have long felt there is an element of racketeering to the supply of glasses and guess that half of users under 40 do not actually need them but are foxed by the apparent instant improvement. AH Mc Kee, Hertfordshire............
