Side effects of zocor for lowering cholesterol

I was very interested in your case study on Zocor for cholesterol

lowering (WDDTY vol 5 no 8). You might be interested to know that I had a far worse experience than your correspondent, and I have no heart trouble!

My only problem is a slight tendency towards diabetes, which is easily controlled by eating sensibly and keeping my weight down. But I was told my cholesterol was high and given a course of Zocor.

After a week I could hardly walk unaided. I fell over if I tried to stand alone. I couldn't wash or dress myself, couldn't eat and felt permanently sick.

I soon stopped taking these tablets, but it was several weeks before I began to feel better! W L Gange, Carnforth, Lancs.......
