Hip replacement and arthritis:

And we finally come to the reader who wanted to know how successful a hip replacement would be in relieving her chronic arthritis. Go for it, chants the majority of readers, obviously happy that they took the plunge. One hospital porter who sees quite a few hip replacement patients going in and out of the operating theatre says the difference is quite remarkable, so much so he even recommended his mother to go and have the operation done. Of course, nothing is ever perfect. One reader, though happy with her hip replacement, did warn that she suffered a minor stroke which damaged the optic nerve and affected the peripheral vision. If you're still undecided, you could try a natural remedy containing aloe, MSM, glucosamine and chondriotin (available from www.foreverliving.com ) that has apparently helped one reader's neighbour with his arthritis.
